At the meeting, Stuart Hu gave a interpretation on the favorable policies of Hainan FTP, such as "zero tariff", free guarantee for foreign yachts entry. He introduced the current yacht industry of Sanya and expressed to cooperate with members of NMMA in investment, brand promotion and 2021 China International Consumer Products Expo.
It is reported that in 2020, the voyage-time in Hainan Province will exceed 100000, with a year-on-year growth of 11%, and the sailing person-time will reach 756163, of which sailing person-time in Sanya will reach 726399, accounting for 96% of Hainan. During the Spring Festival in 2021, 5460 yachts with 38882 passengers went for sailing in Hainan, of which 5164 yachts with 36658 passengers went for sailing in Sanya, accounting for 95% and 94% respectively.
The vigorous yacht tourism directly drives Sanya yacht trading market. At present, it still has a demand gap in surfing yachts, family yachts, medium and high-end leisure fishing yachts, sports yachts, super yachts and new energy yachts, especially for foreign brands.
NMMA was founded in 1979, is the leading trade association in North America, representing the manufacturers of boat, engine and accessories. At present, it has more than 1700 members, covering more than 200 brands. The marine products produced by these members account for 80% of the U.S. market. North America's yacht market accounts for more than half of the global market, and the sales of yachts and relevant supplies are as high as US $3.95 billion per year.
At the meeting, Sara Anghel shared the current yacht market in North America. She said that although manufacturers were temporarily short of production capacity due to the epidemic, members of the association were full of interest in expanding market in China and were very optimistic about the prospects of yacht industry in Sanya . They will fully support on introducing new brands to Sanya.
