While Sanya is learning and absorbing the international advanced sailing culture, it is also striving to create its own sailing culture. The Sinan Regatta is one of the achievements. Founded in 2012, this event is the only professional sailing event in China with the farthest offshore competition route, Paracel. It was initiated by a group of shipowners enthuse at sailing. Sinan is an important navigation tool in ancient times, as well as a symbol of the navigational civilization and history of the Chinese nation. Guided by Sinan all the way to the south, re-walking the "Ancient Spice&Porcelain Road" that has buried shipwrecks for hundreds of years, carrying Chinese sailors’ lofty ambition to revive the maritime civilization of China.

As a non-governmental initiative event supported by government, the Sinan Regatta has gone through a six-year glorious course with the concept of "promoting Sinan spirit and rejuvenating Chinese navigation". The Sinan Regatta has not only made important contributions to China's sailing sports, but has also become a boutique model, which has important reference significance for our future development of sailing sports.

The 8th Sinan Regatta will continue to be undertaken by Sanya Sinan Navigation Promotion and Development Co., Ltd. It is expected to be held in Sanya in April
